Golden polypody fern usually grows as an epiphyte (like an air plant), most commonly on the trunks of cabbage palms. It is sometimes found growing in soil or can be placed on/in rocks. It spreads via rhizome. It likes shade and areas/spaces that are somewhat moist to neither wet nor very dry. It is found through much of Florida, including Alachua County. It is most sparse in the Pan handle.
