Scientific names: Solidago canadensis, Solidago altissima, Solidago canadensis var. scabra

Sometimes S. canadensis and S. altissima are considered the same species. I think this plant is one or the other. It was a volunteer in one of my pots.

Canada goldenrod is a perennial whose native range extends to Alachua County. It likes full to partial sun and dry or moist soil. It is a larval host for the wavy-lined emerald moth according to the NC State Extension.
